Thank you for your trust!
We are absolutely delighted that you have chosen a daano cutting board! With your purchase, you are not only supporting a product, but also an idea that was developed with a lot of passion and attention to detail.
Our goal is for you to enjoy your cutting board for many years – and this guide provides you with all the important tips to achieve just that.
Your cutting board – innovation made from wood fiber
Your daano cutting board is made from a high-quality wood fiber composite: a clever blend of natural wood fibers and food-safe resin. This way, we combine the best of wood and plastic – without the typical drawbacks.
What makes this material special:
- Gentle on your knives – like real wood
- Non-porous, hygienic surface
- Maintenance-free, no oiling or special care required.
- Sustainable, BPA-free and recyclable
- Heat resistant up to 180°C, dishwasher safe
For dishwasher owners
Good news: Your daano cutting board is dishwasher safe and therefore super easy to care for.
Here's how to do it right:
- Use a program between 60 and 75°C.
- Place the board upright in the machine – do not lean anything against it to avoid deformation.
- After cleaning, allow to cool briefly and then air dry.
- Very hot programs (>80°C) should only be used sparingly.
Particularly practical: Unlike classic wooden products, this board withstands high temperatures and remains particularly hygienic thanks to its non-porous surface – perfect, even after cutting meat or fish.
For hand cleaning
Even without a dishwasher, your cutting board remains hygienic:
- Rinse with hot water and use a little mild dish soap.
- Clean thoroughly with a sponge, then dry carefully and leave to air dry briefly.
- For heavier soiling, coarse salt with half a lemon, vinegar, or, for odors, baking soda can help.
Advantages: You have full control over pressure and temperature, and the board is ready for use again immediately after cleaning!
Here are a few tips you should keep in mind:
- Use both sides of the board so that it is stressed evenly.
- Use sharp knives to protect both the board and your blades.
- Change the cutting area regularly.
- Let the board air dry briefly after each cleaning.
- For scratches, you can lightly sand them down with a rough sponge.
What you should avoid:
- Washing temperatures above 80°C.
- Place hot pots directly onto the board.
- Use aggressive abrasives or steel wool.
- Soak the board in water for an extended period of time.
Here's how to store it correctly:
After cleaning, you can simply store your cutting board dry, whether standing upright or lying down. Unlike conventional wooden boards, you can also stack it without any problems – your daano board does not absorb odors or moisture.
Solutions for unexpected problems
- Unpleasant odors? A salt and lemon treatment or a vinegar rinse will help.
- Minor deformations? These usually disappear simply through air drying.
Even more uses
- Use both sides for different foods (e.g., one side for vegetables, the other for meat or fish).
- The board is also ideal as a stylish serving platter or as a baking surface up to 180°C.
Sustainability in everyday life
The daano wood fiber cutting board is durable, BPA-free, and fully recyclable. You save on special cleaning products, reduce water consumption thanks to its dishwasher-safe design, and can replace several boards with just one.
